Former US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that the recent decline in US bonds shows that investors lost confidence in the US government's policy-making, and believed that it is not a dysfunctional event in which the Fed needs to intervene, according to foreign media. Yellen did not think that China will sell its holdings of US debt.

If China were to sell USD, it would boost the exchange rate of RMB, and pose a risk to the US treasury market as well as global financial stability, which would in turn jeopardize China's own interests, Yellen added.
