On Monday (26th) and Tuesday (27th), a notice from the Consumption Promotion Department of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) of China, which convened automakers and related industry organizations for a seminar, circulated online, China Business Network reported. The seminar's theme was to study “zero kilometer used cars” and further promote the circulation and consumption of used cars. Participating organizations included the Aftermarket Branch of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC). Participating companies included DONGFENG GROUP (00489.HK), BYD COMPANY (01211.HK), Douyin Group and Guazi. Regarding the seminar notice, the CADA told reporters that the official announcement shall prevail. A person close to Dongfeng Group revealed that automakers attended the seminar, which primarily aimed to guide the export of used cars and regulate the zero kilometer used car market. The person disclosed that the seminar was open for voluntary registration. About four days ago, GWMOTOR (02333.HK) chairman Wei Jian Jun mentioned in an interview video that there is now a peculiar phenomenon called “zero kilometer used car”, which is considered sold and flows to the used car market just after registration.
