CN Retail Sales of PVs/ NEVs Rise 9%/ 11% MoM in First 25D of May

In the first 25 days of May, China's passenger vehicle (PV) market retailed 1.358 million vehicles, marking an increase of 16% YoY or 9% MoM, according to data released by the China Passenger Car Association. The cumulative retail sales YTD reached 8.23 million vehicles, up 9% YoY.

Meanwhile, the wholesale volume of PV manufacturers across China amounted to 1.389 million vehicles, a YoY rise of 17% but a MoM drop of 1%. The cumulative wholesale volume YTD was 9.858 million vehicles, up 12% YoY.

During the period, China's new energy passenger vehicle (NEV-PV) market also retailed 726,000 vehicles, representing a surge of 31% YoY or 11% MoM. The retail penetration rate of the national new energy vehicle (NEV) market stood at 53.5%, with the cumulative retail sales YTD hitting 4.05 million vehicles, up 35% YoY.
