Guosen Securities has released a report on China's electronics sector. Following the strong performance of the North American computing power supply chain, which fueled a rally in related stocks, the semiconductor sector has now entered a phase of rapid gains. Specifically, TSMC (TSM.US) raised its annual results guidance, while both SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) expressed optimism about future orders and market conditions during their earnings calls. Previously, Guosen Securities had highlighted opportunities in analog (anti-dumping against the US) and memory (price hikes), both of which have embraced major catalysts recently. Once again, the theme of semiconductor self-sufficiency has taken center stage. At the same time, BABA-W (09988.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) are developing their own computing chips, which could drive domestic model training gradually away from overseas reliance. According to foreign media reports, both companies have begun using internally designed chips to train large AI models. In its latest earnings call, BABA mentioned that it had prepared backup plans in light of global AI chip supply and policy shifts. Meanwhile, BIDU-SW's Kunlun Chip P800 is being adopted by both internal and external clients. In China Mobile's centralized procurement project for general-purpose AI computing equipment (inference type) for 2025-26, AI servers powered by Kunlun chips secured 70%, 70%, and 100% of the shares in three bidding packages, ranking first across the board.
