Taobao, JD.com, Meituan & 5 Other Platforms Sign Self-Regulation Convention for Food Safety Mgmt

China's State Administration for Market Regulation has guided eight third-party online food trading platforms, namely JD-SW (09618.HK) (JD.US), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) (MPNGY.US), Pinduoduo (PDD.US), Douyin E-commerce, Xiaohongshu, BABA-W (09988.HK) (BABA.US)'s Taobao, TENCENT (00700.HK) (TCEHY.US)'s WeChat Mini Shops, and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) (KUASF.US), to jointly initiate and sign a self-regulation convention on food safety management of third-party online food trading platforms, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Focusing on current online food safety risk issues, this convention implements a basket of measures like the enforcement of food safety management systems, qualification information review of online food producers and sellers, and monitoring and risk investigation of online food sales behavior.
