Chinese President Xi Jinping engaged in friendly discussions with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron today (5th) in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The two leaders agreed to maintain close communication and jointly promote the continuous development of the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership.

During Macron's visit, both sides issued a joint statement on strengthening global governance, cooperating to address global climate and environmental challenges, continuing cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, agricultural and food exchange and cooperation, and the situations in Ukraine and Palestine.
