HKGCC: ~50% of Surveyed HK Firms Hold Positive View on HK Econ Prospects for Coming Yr

A total of 48.3% of surveyed Hong Kong enterprises hold a positive outlook on the local economy over the next 12 months, a significant rebound from 18.3% in 2024, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) released its Business Prospects Survey results revealing. Only 15.3% of surveyed companies expressed pessimism about the 2026 outlook, down from 44.3% last year. Meanwhile, the HKGCC forecasted that the economy will grow by 2.7% in real terms for 2026, with an overall inflation rate of 1.8%. Over 70% of surveyed firms indicated that their turnover for 10M25 increased YoY or remained largely unchanged. Looking ahead to 2026, 40.3% of companies expect to see results growth, 44.1% anticipate business to remain unchanged, while only 15.7% believe turnover will decrease.
