If the latest US inflation data trend continues, it will help pave the way for further rate cuts next year, Chicago Federal Reserve President Austan Goolsbee said, as quoted by foreign media reports.

Goolsbee stressed that the final interest rate could be way lower than the current level. As long as inflation can be reduced to the 2% target, substantial cuts in US rates by the end of 2026 are entirely possible.
