Starting 1 January 2026, Macau will raise the minimum wage, increasing the hourly rate/ daily rate/ monthly salary to MOP35/ MOP280/ MOP7,280. The Labour Affairs Bureau of Macau (DSAL) said that employers who pay wages below the stipulated amount may be fined between MOP20,000 and MOP50,000. If an employer who has been granted a permit to employ foreign workers fails to comply with the legal requirements, the DSAL will reassess the relevant employment permit for foreign workers.
