The NASDAQ Golden Dragon China Index leaped over 4%, among which Alibaba ADR (BABA.US) climbed 10%, leading to a strong opening of Hong Kong bourse today. The HSI opened 350 points higher; with extended gains of 535 points, it peaked at 27,143. It closed the morning session up 268 points, or 1%, at 26,877. The HSCEI added 73 points, or 0.8%, to 9,293. The HSTECH hiked 22 points, or 0.4%, to 5,885. Total turnover for the morning session was HK$192.031 billion. In the technology sector, BABA-W (09988.HK) mounted 3.5% to HK$159.7, with a turnover of HK$15.867 billion. Under the same series, ALI HEALTH (00241.HK) soared 3.3%. TENCENT (00700.HK) rose 0.5% to HK$626. JD-SW (09618.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) inched up 1.1% and 0.4% respectively. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) mounted 1.8%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) dipped 0.9% and 1.4% respectively. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) sank 1.9%. Some AI concept stocks receded, with SENSETIME-W (00020.HK), WEIMOB INC (02013.HK), and 4 FOURTH PARADIGM (06682.HK) slipping 3.3-4.2%. KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK) and MINIMAX-WP (00100.HK) slumped 8.8% and 7.5% respectively. The 44th JPMorgan Healthcare Conference officially kicked off in San Francisco, with several Chinese innovative pharmaceutical companies confirming their participation. Pharmaceutical stocks such as SINO BIOPHARM (01177.HK), WEIGAO GROUP (01066.HK), WUXI BIO (02269.HK), and HANSOH PHARMA (03692.HK) swelled 3.8-4.6%. FOSUN PHARMA (02196.HK) and 3 3SBIO (01530.HK) leaped 5.2% and 6.7% respectively. REMEGEN (09995.HK) shot up 11.6%. CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK) saw its innovative drug listing application accepted by the National Medical Products Administration, and its share price jumped up 5.7%. Drug development platform WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK) forecast its net profit to skyrocket by nearly 103% YoY last year, and its share price mushroomed 7.9%. PHARMARON (03759.HK) proliferated 6.1%.
