The HSI opened 97 points or 0.4% higher at 26,863. The HSCEI rose 25 points or 0.3% to 9,173. The HSTECH climbed 8 points or 0.1% to 5,734.

BABA-W (09988.HK) opened up 1% at HKD166.8. It has launched a new reasoning model, Qwen3-Max-Thinking, which is comparable in performance to both GPT-5.2 and Gemini 3 Pro. SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) edged 0.2% higher to HKD62.1. It has submitted a listing application for the spin-off of its automotive-related optical business.

Among other major tech stocks, TENCENT (00700.HK) inched up 0.1% to HKD600 at open. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) remained flat at HKD97.1, JD-SW (09618.HK) dipped 0.2%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) dropped 1.7% and 0.8%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) added 0.5% and 1.5%.

Chip stock SMIC (00981.HK) opened down 0.1%, while its peer HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) gained 0.3%. In the automotive sector, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) and NIO-SW (09866.HK) ticked up 1%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) also grew 0.1%.

ANTA SPORTS (02020.HK) rallied 1.5% to HKD77.5 at open. It has become Puma's largest shareholder after acquiring a 29% stake for over EUR1.5 billion. HANSOH PHARMA (03692.HK) shed 1% to HKD39.82 after announcing an issuance of RMB4.68 billion zero-coupon convertible bonds. ZIJIN GOLD INTL (02259.HK) surged 3% to HKD215. It intends to take over Allied Gold for RMB28 billion. ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK) soared 4.3%.
