Dario Amodei, CEO of AI startup Anthropic, also a rival to OpenAI, published a nearly 20,000-word article on Monday (26th), urging humanity to be wary of the catastrophic risks that could be posed by powerful AI systems in the coming years. In Amodei's estimate, humanity may witness the birth of a "powerful AI" that could outplay any Nobel laureate or national-level tech talent over the next few years. When facing unimaginably immense power, however, there are significant doubts about whether humanity can control it with the current social, political, and technological capabilities.
