The Shipping Index (Europe Route) Futures Main Contract at the Shanghai International Energy Exchange once hit the day's limit, soaring by 12.5% to last at 1,397.8, following the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran over the past weekend. Iran continues to launch attacks in the Middle East in response to the military actions of the US and Israel, with at least three ships attacked near the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed that three tankers from the UK and the US were hit by missiles. Vessels from several large shippers are leaving, and the world's largest container shipping company, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), has suspended all container operations to the Middle East.
