The HSI opened 179 points or 0.7% lower at 25,719; the HSCEI opened 35 points or 0.4% lower at 8,668; and the HSTECH opened 30 points or 0.6% lower at 5,024. Among oils, PETROCHINA (00857.HK) and CNOOC (00883.HK) opened 1.6% and 1.9% higher, respectively, while oil equipment stock SHANDONG MOLONG (00568.HK) surged 14.9% at open. Port operator CHINA MER PORT (00144.HK) opened 2% lower. In the tech sector, BABA-W (09988.HK) opened 2% lower, while TENCENT (00700.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) opened 0.3% and 0.7% lower, respectively. JD-SW (09618.HK) opened 0.3% higher. NTES-S (09999.HK) opened flat at HKD184.4. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) opened 1.4% and 1.2% lower, respectively, while BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) opened 2.6% lower. For financials, HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) opened 0.2% higher at HKD129.7. HKEX (00388.HK) opened 0.9% lower. AIA (01299.HK) opened 2% lower. The SFC and ICAC mounted an investigation at GUOTAI JUNAN I (01788.HK) on Tuesday, detaining one employee, causing the stock to open 4.2% lower at HKD2.51.
