HKFRTU Says MTR Pay Hike Slightly Below Demands, Calls for Improved Special Shift Allowance

MTR CORPORATION (00066.HK) announced that most non-managerial employees will receive a basic salary increase of 1.6-3.84% this year.

The Hong Kong Federation of Railway Trade Unions (HKFRTU) stated that the increase was slightly below its recommendation, and believed that the company had failed to address the HKFRTU's demands.

In this salary review, MTR CORPORATION failed to fully address multiple demands, including the prompt implementation of a seniority-based salary increase mechanism, improvement of special work shift allowances for night shifts and early morning & night shifts, and the study of extending the retirement age, etc., the chairman of the HKFRTU said.
