Lei Jun, the founder, chairman, and CEO of XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), released a video on Weibo stating that he would still choose the pathway of car manufacturing if time could rewind by five years.

Five years ago, everyone said car manufacturing was difficult, and upon extensive research, he found that it was indeed challenging, so he made thorough preparations.

At the initial stage, car manufacturing was a bit simpler than imagined, but as the manufacturing process accelerated, it felt increasingly difficult and challenging, yet also more interesting.

He also noted that if he were not manufacturing cars, he would likely dedicate himself entirely to AI.

XIAOMI-W made tremendous investments in AI in recent years, and there should be updates on the latest progress in AI soon. Lei added that once AI enters the physical world, cars are an excellent application scenario.
