Lisa Liu, managing director and portfolio manager of Gold Mountains Asset Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ZIJIN MINING (02899.HK), said that the Company hopes to increase its investments in strategic metals such as tungsten and uranium, as the global race to secure supplies of critical minerals has driven up related prices.

Rare earth-containing mines are also within the Company’s scope of interest, but quality projects are rarely available, as many transactions are extremely expensive or require a long time to bring into production, Liu added. However, the Company has ample cash on hand and is ready to invest in projects at any time.
